Torunes Farm

Torunes Farm and the Bee Oasis, located in Palmares, Alajuela, Costa Rica, are dedicated sanctuaries for nature, pollinators, and sustainable living. Nestled in the lush Central Valley, Torunes Farm serves as a living lab for regenerative agriculture and native plant preservation, with a special focus on supporting Melipona stingless bees—particularly the Mariola and Beecheii species. The Bee Oasis is a collaborative project on the farm that creates year-round foraging habitat using a carefully curated selection of flowering plants, trees, and medicinal herbs known to benefit bee health and honey production. Together, the farm and oasis are helping to protect endangered native bee species, promote pollinator education, and reconnect people with the vital role these tiny creatures play in food security and environmental balance.
